Dr David Goodworth
MB ChB DRCOG
Dr Goodworth, qualified in 1984 from Manchester, then went to Cornwall to complete his GP Training Scheme before joining the practice in February 1990. He became senior partner in 2014. Dr Goodworth enjoys all aspects of General Practice but particularly respiratory medicine and mens health. He has 3 sons who keep him very busy. He enjoys being active, including walking his dog and will attempt most sports. After running 4 marathons his knees are hoping there will be no more! At some stage he would like to climb Mount Kilemanjaro and cycle from John o’ Groats to Lands End.
Dr Christopher Cole
MBBS BSc MRCGP
Dr Cole qualified at University College London in 1992. He joined the Birchwood practice in 1999. He has an interest in ophthalmology, enjoys supporting newly qualified doctors in general practice experience, and is a GP registrar trainer. He is married with two daughters, enjoys playing guitar, and windsurfing in his (very limited) spare time.
Dr Ben Wallace
MA BM BCh (Oxon) MRCGP DRCOG
Dr Wallace qualified from Oxford University in 2007, then went on to complete his GP training in Wessex. He joined the practice in June 2014 Dr Wallace enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has a specialist interest in Dermatology. He enjoys tennis, squash, cycling and kitesurfing.
Dr Stephanie Dalton
MBChB
Dr Dalton Graduated from Leeds in 2007 and then went to work in Perth for 18 months. She went on to do her GP training in London and then moved to Dorset in 2016. Medically Dr Dalton is interested in Paediatrics and allergies. Outside of work she is mostly entertaining her 2 boys and daughter, and enjoys doing the Park Run, cycling and spending lots of time on the beach or outdoors.

Dr Catherine Carnegie
BM, MRCGP, DRCOG, MRCGP
Dr. Carnegie qualified from The University of Southampton in 2010 and went on to work in Dorset as well as New Zealand before changing from hospital medicine to GP training. She qualified as a GP and started work at Birchwood Medical Centre in 2022. She enjoys all aspects of GP but particularly general medicine and women's health. Outside of work she is kept busy with 2 young children but loves to squeeze in any outdoor activities, especially being out on the harbour in any form she can find - swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, wakebaording!
Dr Claire Lavender
MBChB BSc DRCOG MRCGP
I qualified from The University of Leeds in 2010 and worked in Leeds & Bradford for two years before moving to Perth, Australia where I mostly worked in the emergency department.
I moved back the UK in 2014 undertake my GP training in Bournemouth. I have worked in various practices locally but joined the Birchwood Practice in February 2022. I enjoy all aspects of GP but particularly Paediatrics and Women’s Health
Outside of work I am married with 2 small children and a dog who keep me busy! We enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors including the Purbecks and the New Forest as well as the local beaches where we like to kayak, swim or SUP.
